MAX has a new way to protect your account on Gosuslugi

Russians will be able to protect their accounts on Gosuslugi through a one-time code received in the MAX messenger. This was announced on August 20 by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.

"Today, there is another option [for authorization on Public Services] — the Max messenger. A one-time code (OTP code) will be sent to it," the publication on the website says.

It is specified that the service was developed according to the law on the national messenger. It is currently available in test mode.

The new method is convenient because it protects against fraudsters, does not require the installation of an additional application for creating one-time passwords, and also allows you to get a code for those who cannot receive SMS. Before receiving an alert, the chatbot will ask questions to identify suspicious activity and will not issue a code if a danger is detected.

To connect a one-time code via MAX, you need to log in to Gosuslugi from your computer, click on the appropriate banner, identify the device to receive the code and specify it as trusted. Subsequently, a chat "Confirmation codes" will appear in the messenger, where notifications will be sent.

Machine learning technologies have been introduced in the new product to improve call quality.

On August 19, the MAX press service announced the registration of 18 million users in the application. It was clarified that since the launch of the platform, Russians have sent over 200 million messages and made about 30 million calls, and the number of group chats is close to 1 million — currently their number is 700 thousand.
