Employees of the Department of the FSB of Russia in the Zaporizhia region detained a resident of the region for financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on August 20 by the press service of the department.

It was established that from 2023 to 2024, a woman purchased military bonds through the application of a Ukrainian bank, the proceeds from the sale of which were used to finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"In pursuit of criminal intent, the malefactor spent more than 270 thousand rubles," TASS quoted the agency as saying.

A criminal case on high treason was opened against her. Currently, the woman is in custody, she faces imprisonment up to life in prison.

The tightening will also apply to foreigners and stateless persons.

On July 16, it was reported that in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), FSB officers detained a Russian citizen who funded the Ukrainian army. It was clarified that he had repeatedly transferred money to electronic bank accounts. A case of treason has been opened against him.
