On September 13, 2025, the XI International Festival "Cossack Village Moscow" will be held on the territory of the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve. This is one of the largest events dedicated to the history, culture and traditions of the Russian Cossacks. This year's festival is dedicated to the Year of Defender of the Fatherland and the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Special attention within the framework of the festival will be paid to a unique cultural and historical project - a marching temple, modeled after the military churches that accompanied the Cossacks in military campaigns and expeditions. The marching temple will become the central symbol of the festival and will be presented and consecrated at the festival. Its artistic feature is a hand-made cloth iconostasis using the author's technique of church embroidery. The iconostasis was created by artist Julia Kashevnik, a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Decorative and Applied Arts, a specialist in traditional and modern sewing techniques. The images and elements of the composition are made using hand and machine embroidery, silk, velvet, gold and silk threads. An important event will be the subsequent transfer of the temple to the Synodal Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church for Cooperation with the Cossacks.

The presentation of the iconostasis took place on August 19 at St. Nicholas Church in Zayatsky as part of a press tour dedicated to the Patronal Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord. The journalists witnessed the festive Divine Liturgy, the procession and the consecration of the fruits of the new harvest. The event ended with a concert by the Dobro Slava Cossack ensemble and a festive meal with the historical Alexander Nevsky Porridge, recreated according to an ancient recipe by the chefs of the International Culinary Alliance.

The Kolomenskoye Festival traditionally transforms the museum's territory into a large interactive open-air venue. This year, guests will find more than 12 themed spaces covering various aspects of Cossack life, art and service. Cossack kurens will be recreated, master classes in crafts, exhibitions of household items and uniforms, reconstruction of military camps and historical situations will be organized. The All-Russian Cossack Society will host expositions dedicated to the Cossacks, heroes of a special military operation, and visiting exhibitions of the M. A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the beginning of work on the novel "The Quiet Don" and the 120th anniversary of the writer's birth.

Sports and applied competitions will give special entertainment to the program: the All-Russian saber cutting competitions "Kazarla in the village of Moscow", performances in jigging, flanking and possession of edged weapons. The participants will demonstrate not only their skills and techniques, but also teamwork within the framework of large-scale performances. All performances will take place in traditional Cossack costumes, which emphasizes the historical and cultural authenticity of what is happening.

The festival will also offer an extensive cultural program: Cossack ensembles and folklore groups from different regions of Russia will perform on the main stage. A playground with folk amusements, educational interactivity and master classes will be organized for children.
