New data about the "alien ship" 3I/ATLAS worried the scientist
The light emitted by the 3I/ATLAS interstellar object may indicate the extraterrestrial origin of the celestial body. This was reported on August 19 by the Daily Mail newspaper.
"A mysterious interstellar object streaking through our solar system has just provided scientists with new evidence that it could be a ship from another part of the galaxy," the publication says.
According to Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb, the object, designated 3I/ATLAS, appears to emit its own radiance, similar to the light that comes from car headlights, but its source currently remains a mystery.
As the scientist noted, the light from 3I/ATLAS in the image of the Hubble telescope looked like a luminous area focused on the side of the object facing the sun. It is not a beam or a laser that is emitted like a spotlight, nor is it a uniform glow that covers the entire surface.
In a new report, Loeb stated that this glow may be caused by dust rising from the surface of an object when it is heated by the sun, but the brightness of the glow decreases sharply with distance, which does not correspond to the typical behavior of comets reflecting sunlight. According to Loeb, this was another potential proof that 3I/ATLAS could be an artificial object containing a powerful energy source capable of generating light.
Earlier, on August 2, Harvard astrophysicist Loeb said that a potentially dangerous interstellar object 3I/ATLAS could reach Earth by the end of 2025. According to him, it may turn out to be an alien ship capable of carrying a probe or a weapon.
Later, the Daily Mail newspaper reported on the possible fulfillment of the prediction of British scientist Stephen Hawking about an "alien invasion" due to the interstellar object 3I/ATLAS moving towards Earth. The publication recalled that the scientist had warned of a catastrophe for humanity in the event of contact with alien life.
