Igor Yesaulenko, Rector of Voronezh State Medical University, has died.
Igor Yesaulenko, Rector of Voronezh State Medical University named after N.N. Burdenko (VSMU), died at the age of 69. This was announced on August 19 by the Governor of the Voronezh Region, Alexander Gusev.
"Very sad news came this morning. Igor Eduardovich Yesaulenko is gone," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to the governor of the region, Yesaulenko worked a lot as a deputy of the regional Duma, was the author of legislative initiatives, and regularly held meetings with the regional government.
Gusev, on behalf of the Government of the Voronezh Region, expressed condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Yesaulenko.
Igor Yesaulenko was born on March 18, 1956 in Zhigulevsk (Kuibyshev region). Graduated with honors from Voronezh Medical Institute named after N.N. Burdenko in 1979.
In 2000, he became a professor and took the position of rector of the Burdenko State State Medical University. During his leadership, the UDL established three institutes, two faculties and ten departments. He became the author of more than 400 works, including 17 monographs and seven textbooks approved by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. Under his leadership, 15 PhD and four doctoral dissertations were defended.
