Three female students of the Russian State University of Art and Industry named after S. G. Stroganov decided to expel after dancing in front of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. This was announced on August 18 at the university.

As noted by "Gazeta.Ru", earlier the human rights center "Forty Sorokov" published a video showing three girls dancing inappropriately near the temple.

"On June 6, 2025, all three first—year students of the Department of Interior Art Design were expelled from the student body by decision of the Academic Council of the Stroganov Russian State Pedagogical University for violating public order and insulting religious feelings of citizens," the university said in a statement.

The university noted that such behavior is incompatible with the status of a state university student.

On July 15, the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted in the second and third readings the law on the protection of religious symbols of traditional faiths in Russia. It was clarified that it is prohibited to use images of religious buildings and objects with religious symbols in the media, on the Internet, in advertising and when selling goods, if this could lead to their desecration.
