The Levotobi volcano erupted on the Indonesian island of Flores, resulting in the release of ash to a height of 7.6 km. The relevant information was published on August 18 on the official website of the Center for Volcanology and Mitigation of Geological Disasters in Indonesia.

It is noted that the height of the ash reached 7,584 m above sea level. According to the center, the ash is spreading with great intensity in the western and north-western directions.

Local residents were urged to remain calm and follow the instructions, use masks and respirators to protect their respiratory tract from volcanic smoke and ash.

Earlier, on August 2, Kompas TV reported that another eruption of the Levotobi Lucky volcano, which is located in the southeastern part of the island of Flores, was recorded in Indonesia. The eruption itself, which lasted more than three minutes, was recorded on a seismogram — its maximum amplitude was 47.3 mm.
