The digital ruble has been successfully tested in a real estate transaction

VTB conducted the first real estate transaction using the digital ruble. The bank's client booked an apartment in a residential complex in Moscow, making payments in digital national currency, the bank's press service said.

"The successful transaction with PIK, conducted using the digital ruble, is an important step towards creating a modern and efficient financial infrastructure in Russia. We see the enormous potential of the digital ruble in increasing settlement transparency, reducing transaction costs, and developing innovative financial services. VTB intends to actively develop its expertise in this area and cooperate with the Bank of Russia to further introduce the digital ruble into the country's economy," said Alexander Pakhomov, Deputy President and Chairman of the VTB Management Board.

The transaction process consisted of several stages. Previously, the buyer and the developer received regulatory approval for settlements in digital currency and opened accounts on the digital ruble platform of the Bank of Russia. After selecting the object using a QR code, the buyer paid for the booking.
