Rosgvardiya officers found extremist materials by militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Zaporizhia region. This was announced on August 17 by the press service of the department.

"During targeted events, Rosgvardiya servicemen discovered extremist literature in one of the settlements of the Zaporizhia region, in a house where agents of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had previously taken refuge," the message published on the Telegram channel says.

It is specified that many publications before the start of the special military operation (SVO) were kept in public libraries in the region and were actively used in working with the population of different ages. According to the agency, they were published with funds from the European Union (EU), the materials are dated from different years, starting in the 2000s.

They also stressed that the books, which are intended for primary school children, have a preface by one of the EU ambassadors. He urges Ukrainian children to share Western ideas and resist the allegedly "aggressive Russia." The agency reported that these materials were transferred to the security authorities for study.

On July 24, Rosgvardiya reported that department employees had discovered ammunition and extremist materials of Ukrainian militants on the territory of the Lugansk Nature Reserve. The materials were found during the demining of the former positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The ammunition includes shots fired at a hand—held anti-tank grenade launcher, RGD and RGN hand grenades with fuses, 81-millimeter smoke grenades and more than 600 rounds of various calibers.
