Pyrotechnics found eight anti-tank mines and one sapper charge near the railway tracks near the Crimean Bridge. This was announced on August 16 by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea in the Telegram channel.
"In the Leninsky district, pyrotechnics of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations destroyed nine explosive objects (eight anti-tank mines and one sapper charge). The work of pyrotechnics was complicated by the proximity to the railway track," the publication says.
It was clarified that train traffic was not suspended during the decontamination operation.
Earlier, on June 23, more than 3,500 explosive objects were found on the Kuril island of Shumshu during mine clearance. It was clarified that the main work was carried out in the area of Cape Kurbatov, where it was planned to reconstruct the amphibious landing, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory over militaristic Japan and the end of World War II.
