It is important to preserve the achieved results of the talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump. This opinion was expressed by Daniil Bessarabov, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on State Construction and Legislation, in an interview with Izvestia on August 16.

"Now it is very important to preserve the achieved results and really protect the first results from provocations and attacks by enemies. After all, we do not live in illusions that everyone liked such a warm meeting between the two world leaders. They have already started to spread the theme of the lack of concrete results," he said.

According to the parliamentarian, the main outcome of the negotiations held in Alaska was the very fact of a direct dialogue between the leaders of the two countries. In addition, Bessarabov suggested that there are concrete results, but "they have not yet been publicly announced."

"I want to believe that thanks to the last meeting between Putin and Trump, we have become one step closer to peace!" the deputy added.

He also noted that Putin, Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping could become new architects of a new sustainable world order.

The leaders of the Russian Federation and the United States have not yet found a full understanding, but they have made significant progress.

The meeting between Putin and Trump took place on August 15 in Anchorage, Alaska. Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Cooperation with Foreign Countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), stressed that the dialogue between the leaders was positive and constructive.
