The work of musician Viktor Tsoi and the Kino group has significantly influenced the values of several generations of Russians. Singer Elena Jaya told Izvestia about this on August 15 in honor of the anniversary of the death of the rock musician in a car accident.

"A lot of Tsoi's songs, which we grew up listening to, are still playing in my head like that. And when you find yourself on Arbat, you willy-nilly return to Tsoi's wall, which attracts your attention and also brings you back to those years, to that musical past, to that youth from which everything began," she said.

The singer stressed that Tsoi had left a "huge imprint" on the growing up of many Russian residents. Elena Jaya added that Tsoi's work was revolutionary and resonated with teenagers who have now become adults.

When asked about the favorite songs of the Kino group, she named "Blood Type" and "A star named the Sun." She added that she likes other songs of Tsoi, which did not become so famous.

August 15 marks the 35th anniversary of Tsoi's death in a car accident. On Memorial Day, fans of the musician gathered in the center of Moscow on Stary Arbat Street, where there is a wall dedicated to the soloist of the Kino group. Izvestia's footage shows Tsoi's fans playing guitar and singing his songs.

Earlier, personal drawings of the artist appeared on the memorial wall of Viktor Tsoi on the Old Arbat — part of the art object was updated by volunteer artists. Kristina Zhuravleva, the organizer of the commemorative event, informed Izvestia on June 6 that the work had been coordinated with the district administration.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
