X5 and Roskachestvo agreed to fight for high-quality honey
X5, Roskachestvo and Rusprodsoyuz signed the charter of bona fide participants in the honey market.
According to the press service of X5, one of the tasks of the charter will be to revive the culture of daily consumption of this product.
"The signing of the charter gives rise to the development of a market based on the joint desire of manufacturers and X5 to provide consumers with a safe and high-quality product. We will continue to strengthen traceability throughout the supply chain in cooperation with Roskachestvo and industry associations. This approach will ensure the quality and safety of products and increase consumer confidence in domestic honey," said Boris Ogarkov, Director of Government Relations at X5.
Roskachestvo said that for a long time there was a very high proportion of falsification in the honey market (more than 90%). "Starting in 2024, Roskachestvo conducts large-scale monitoring of honey quality. We note that the share of counterfeiting has decreased by more than 40%, but it is still high," said Elena Sarattseva, Deputy head of Roskachestvo. She stressed that the charter is an important tool for protecting consumers and supporting small producers, creating a new level of trust in Russian honey.
According to the results of a study by Roskachestvo, in 2024, 20% of honey brands met mandatory legal requirements. Since September 2024, amendments to the law "On Beekeeping" have entered into force, fixing the identification characteristics of the product. This has led to positive changes in the honey market. The results of the first pool of the Roskachestvo 2025 study showed that out of 20 popular brands among Russians, 10 meet the requirements.
