South Sudan has agreed to accept Palestinians from the Gaza Strip at Israel's request. This was reported on August 14 by The Telegraph newspaper.

"The Cabinet of Ministers of South Sudan has agreed to accept Palestinians from the Gaza Strip at the request of Israel," the article says.

It is clarified that the government approved the request as part of the deal, which also involves the United States and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According to the publication, this step was taken when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu began trying to revive the idea of "voluntary" resettlement of civilians from the enclave.

Earlier, on August 13, Axios journalist Barak Ravid reported on the chance that the Israeli government would send a high-ranking delegation to Doha for talks with Qatari officials on a possible resumption of dialogue on a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip. It was clarified that if the Israeli delegation arrives, the negotiations will focus on efforts to develop a comprehensive agreement.

Later, the head of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Eyal Zamir approved the basic concept of the plan for an armed offensive in the Gaza Strip. He stressed the importance of increasing the combat readiness of the troops.
