US President Donald Trump has accused the American media of trying to discredit the upcoming meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. On August 13, the head of the White House wrote about this on the Truth Social network.

So, he called his former national security adviser during John Bolton's first term a stupid man, because he said that Moscow had won the future summit between Russia and the United States, which will be held in Alaska.

"Extremely unscrupulous media outlets are working on my meeting with Putin. Dismissed losers and completely stupid people are constantly quoted, such as John Bolton, who just stated that, despite the fact that the meeting is taking place on American soil, "Putin has already won." What is it anyway? We win at everything," Trump wrote.

Political analyst Thomas Yeager said earlier in the day that the talks between Putin and Trump in Alaska could create a "dangerous situation" for Ukraine. According to the expert, Ukraine may be faced with a choice — to agree to the terms or refuse and receive accusations of disinterest in negotiations from the United States.

In addition, the British Financial Times newspaper, citing former American ambassador to Bulgaria Eric Rubin, noted on August 13 that the Trump administration lacks experienced specialists on issues related to Russia and Ukraine.

On August 8, Trump announced a meeting with Putin in Alaska on August 15. Later, White House press Secretary Caroline Leavitt named Anchorage as the place where the summit of the Russian Federation and the United States will take place.
