American political scientist Malek Dudakov expressed the opinion that Ukraine and its allies are trying to influence US President Donald Trump before his meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in order to persuade the head of the White House to take a tougher course towards Russia.

In conversation with Lenta.Ru On Wednesday, August 13, the expert pointed out that Europe and Ukraine could try to disrupt the negotiation process with Russia in this way.

"It's far from certain that this whole strategy will work. As we can see, the Trump administration is now quite skeptical about the Europeans and their ability to continue their confrontation with Russia, and about the Ukrainians," the political scientist concluded.
