An aftershock of magnitude 5.5 was recorded in Kamchatka at a distance of 211 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. This was announced on August 13 in the press service of the Kamchatka branch of the Federal Research Center "Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences" (FITCGS RAS).

It is noted that the aftershock was recorded at a depth of 59.8 km.
Earlier, on August 3, 10 significant earthquakes were recorded in Kamchatka, and more than 65 earthquakes occurred in just one day. On August 4, the situation repeated itself: seven significant earthquakes occurred during the day, and more than 85 earthquakes occurred during the day.
