The Chinese authorities have decided to stop any contacts with the President of the Czech Republic, Peter Pavel, because of his meeting with the Dalai Lama XIV. This was announced on August 12 by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian.
"China expresses strong dissatisfaction and resolute disagreement with this and has sent a serious submission to the Czech side. In response to Pavel's blatant and provocative actions, China has decided to cease further interaction with him," the Chinese official said, his words are quoted on the website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
