Full-cycle production of Tenet cars has started in Russia

The Kaluga plant AGR Holding has launched the production of a full cycle of cars of the new Russian brand Tenet. This was announced on August 12 in the company's press release.

The first model to roll off the assembly line is the Tenet T7 crossover. For the production of cars of the new brand, the production of the former VW plant was modernized. The architecture of the welding line was completely rebuilt for the new body, automated geometry and stiffness control systems were introduced to ensure compliance with high quality standards.

The next stage was the modernization of the paint shop — the plant introduced advanced technologies of cataphoresis treatment and multilayer coating, which guarantee reliable protection of the body from corrosion and resistance to aggressive operating conditions. At the final stage, the assembly line was re-equipped. Each site and each workplace have been adapted to the design features of the Tenet brand cars. Some of the equipment previously used at the plant has been adapted to the new product.

Before the launch of serial assembly, more than 200 pre-production bodies were welded at the plant, over 50 of them underwent a full cycle of painting and assembly. Each body was checked for more than 2.1 thousand parameters.

Currently, the plant employs more than 4,000 qualified specialists, many of whom have many years of experience in the company and are well acquainted with international standards in the field of automotive industry, according to a press release.

On August 7, the premiere of the mid-size crossover Tenet T7 took place. The car with a wheelbase of 2,670 mm is equipped with a 1.6-liter (150 hp) turbocharged gasoline engine with a robotic seven-speed transmission. The declared consumption is 6.2 liters per 100 km.

The T7 is equipped with six airbags, matrix LED headlights, two 12.3-inch full-color HD screens, a multimedia system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, all-round cameras, dual-zone climate control, and a Sony audio system.
