Astronomer, popularizer of astronomy and cosmonautics Alexander Kiselyov said that for the first time it was possible to record the moment of the beginning of the formation of planets around the star HOPS-315 — in fact, the creation of a new Solar system.

In conversation with aif.ru On Tuesday, August 12, the expert noted that HOPS-315 is similar to our Sun at an early stage of development: the star is about 135 thousand years old, and a disk of gas and dust orbits around it, which will become the "building material" for planets. The most important thing, the scientist noted, is the observation of the initial condensation of minerals: refractory compounds rich in calcium, aluminum and silicon oxide form in the inner, hotter part of the disk, while ice, ammonia and methane form in the outer part.

He explained that rocky and gaseous planets, as well as icy moons, are formed from such substances, and the gas phase already contains key components for organics and future atmospheres. The full development of the system is estimated to take about 3.6 billion years.

Mikhail Tolstykh, a professor at the Phystech School of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, an employee of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, told the Moscow City News Agency on August 12 that cloudy weather on the night of August 13 would prevent the peak of the Perseid meteor shower from being observed in Moscow, but visibility would be better outside the city. Starting at midnight and throughout the night, up to 100 meteors per hour, or 1-2 meteors per minute, can be observed. kp.ru .

On August 10, astronomers reported that a strong plasma burst had occurred on the Sun. It affected several regions of the star with a total diameter of 500,000 km. The plasma was ejected exactly in the plane of the planets, writes RT. There were also signs of the departure of some of the matter and magnetic fields towards the Earth, IA Regnum notes.

The arrival of ejected plasma into the Earth's magnetosphere can cause powerful geomagnetic storms, disruptions to satellite systems, and problems with radio communications, RIAMO notes.
