A sharp surge in the activity of bot parsers in late July and early August was recorded in the online electronics trading segment. The Servicepipe company told Izvestia about this.

"This activity is associated with a sharp fluctuation in the dollar exchange rate on July 30, 2025, when there was a jump in the exchange rate from 79.58 rubles to 82.2 rubles per dollar. In some cases, the frequency of automatic parsing attempts increased 2.5–3.5 times compared to normal days, and the share of bot traffic from individual players exceeded 70%," said Daniil Shcherbakov, the company's deputy CEO.

Bot activity persisted for several days, with the number of "targeted" heavy requests exceeding 10,000 per minute on some resources.

"The main purpose of parser bots is to aggressively collect information about prices and availability of goods. In the case of dollar surges, competitors or illegal trading platforms need information about how the volatility of the ruble affects prices," the expert added.
