The State Duma proposed to limit the margin on 25 basic products

The margin on 25 socially significant products should not exceed 15% of the purchase price. This was stated on August 10 by Sergei Mironov, chairman of the Fair Russia — For Truth party.

"We have an idea about a list of about 25 products, which is approved by the government. To establish a rule that the margin on them in any outlet, even a mega—market, even a small village store, should not be more than 15% of the wholesale purchase price," TASS quoted him as saying.

He added that working out the list is one of the faction's priorities for the autumn session in the State Duma (State Duma), as currently the mark—up on products in retail chains can range from 100% to 200%. According to Mironov, "the state must intervene" in the current situation.

On August 8, Sergei Mironov proposed to freeze the prices of basic necessities from September 1 until the New Year due to inflation. In his opinion, it is necessary to freeze the prices of meat, sugar, vegetables and fruits. As the deputy noted, the Center for Macroeconomic Analysis and Short-term Forecasting (CMAKP) also recommended fixing food prices for the mentioned period.
