The media reported on the possible influence of NABU on the election campaign
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) may influence the election campaign, which will begin after the conflict is resolved, with its investigative activities. This was reported on July 31 in The Economist.
The article clarifies that after President Vladimir Zelensky, under pressure from European governments, abandoned plans to limit the independence of NABU, the bureau's work will be carried out "with even greater enthusiasm."
It is assumed that the results of these investigations may influence the next presidential elections in Ukraine, which, most likely, will take place after the peace deal, adds "Газета.Ru ".
The law on limiting the powers of two anti-corruption agencies of the NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) entered into force on July 23. On the same day, the Minister Delegate for European Affairs at the French Foreign Ministry, Benjamin Addad, said that the decision was unprofitable for Kiev, since Ukraine would like to become a member of the European Union in the future. A day earlier, mass protests had begun in connection with its adoption.
