The King of Malaysia, Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar, visited the Kazan Helicopter Plant of the Russian Helicopters Holding Company. During the tour, he was accompanied by the head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. Izvestia publishes video footage of the official visit on August 9.

The foreign guest was presented with a range of helicopters from the Kazan enterprise: the Mi-38 with a high-comfort cabin, the Mi-8MTV-1 in a transport version and in a premium modification. He also examined light Ansats designed for police and medical services.

Helicopters produced in Kazan are used in 96 countries around the world. Nikolay Kolesov, CEO of Russian Helicopters, called the visit of the King of Malaysia a landmark event for the holding.

"Mi-17 family helicopters have been actively used in Malaysia for about 30 years. Today, they form the basis of the helicopter fleet of the Department of the country's Fire and Rescue Service (BOMBA). It is important for us to develop cooperation with Malaysia," he said.

The Supreme Ruler of Malaysia arrived in Russia on a state visit on August 5. His plane landed at Vnukovo-2 airport. This is the first state visit of the Malaysian king to Russia.

During the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ibrahim admired the leadership qualities of the Russian president. He noted that the diplomatic relations between the two countries have been going on for almost 60 years, and expressed his intention to strengthen Russian-Malaysian ties. Putin, in turn, expressed gratitude to Malaysia for supporting bilateral relations and noted the countries' cooperation on various international platforms.
