Guards Junior Sergeant Alexei Bakhmutsky, as part of a self-propelled artillery piece crew, destroyed a stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) along with infantry. The Russian Defense Ministry reported on the exploits of Russian servicemen in the special military operation zone on Saturday, August 9.

At the time of the detection of an accumulation of enemy manpower, Bakhmutsky was in a firing position. After receiving the coordinates, his crew fired the first aimed shot.

After that, the Ukrainian Armed Forces began to conduct heavy shelling of the area where the artillery installation of the Russian fighters was located. Despite this, the junior sergeant of the guards continued to fire at the indicated coordinates. As a result, the stronghold of the Ukrainian units was destroyed along with the infantry.

After the strikes were completed, the soldiers moved the cannon to a reserve area. Thanks to the actions of the calculation, the Russian army was able to weaken the enemy's defenses and ensure the advance of troops.

The Defense Ministry also said that Private Oleg Maksimovskikh successfully completed the task of delivering provisions and ammunition to combat positions. Along the way, the soldier was shelled by mortars, but managed to destroy the drone that was correcting their fire with his personal weapon, which allowed him to continue the route.

Earlier, on August 8, Corporal Yuri Khomich completed a combat mission to deliver ammunition and materiel to the advanced positions of Russian assault groups while under enemy fire. Having quickly got his bearings in the situation, the soldier made a maneuver and dodged the drone strike, after which he hid the vehicle in a wooded area. After that, the corporal used his personal small arms to destroy the enemy drone, which was located above his location.

On August 7, during combat duty, Sergeant Alexander Sinkin promptly evacuated a wounded colleague to a safe place. The soldier was presented with a state award for his professionalism and courage in fulfilling his duty.
