Four people fell into the water after a cable car broke in Nalchik, they are alive. This was announced on August 8 by Mikhail Reliable, Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for Kabardino-Balkaria.

"A total of 13 people were removed from the rope chairs. Six people fell on a hard surface, four people fell into the water. The cameras show that four people fell into the water, all four are alive, all were on shore," said Reliable at an operational meeting, the recording of which is posted on the Telegram channel of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Reliable noted that the bottom of the lake is being examined by divers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation. According to him, "99% is that there is no one there," as experts have studied the cameras.

The cable car broke earlier in the day. A criminal case was opened into the incident under paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers, which negligently caused serious harm").

According to the Ministry of Health of Kabardino-Balkaria, eight people were injured in the incident. Four of them were hospitalized, and one is in serious condition in intensive care, two patients of moderate severity are currently being examined. Two more have already been released home.
