"These units play a key role in ensuring machine performance, especially on difficult soils. Initially, the task appeared as part of import substitution, when Canadian tractors began to be produced under license in our country. However, during the analysis, it turned out that the original gearbox, although it worked, did not have sufficient strength for domestic conditions," Vladislav Pigenko, director of the advanced engineering school of DSTU, explained to Izvestia.

He said that in the process of computational modeling, scientists have revised the shape of a number of key components of the mechanism and replaced the material from which they are made. As a result, the safety margin of the unit was increased by 1.76 times, and, in general, its resource doubled.

According to the expert, the prototype tractor with upgraded units was tested in the field with different types of mounted and trailed guns. In addition, the car will be checked on special tracks with obstacles.

Pigenko noted that the uninterrupted operation of machinery is especially important during emergency sowing and harvesting operations.
