Actress and director Susanna Serova has died at the age of 91. This was announced on August 6 by the press service of the Russian Institute of Theatrical Arts (GITIS).
"Susanna Pavlovna Serova, an outstanding teacher, actress, director, master of artistic expression, professor of GITIS, has died," the Telegram channel says.
Serova graduated from the Moscow Art Theater Studio School in 1957. She worked in the Sovremennik theaters, the Saratov Youth Theater, and the Theater on Malaya Bronnaya. She became famous after playing the Queen in the TV play "Don't give up the Queen!" (1965).
Serova's main activity was related to pedagogy. Since 1972— he has been the head of the Artistic Word Studio at the Central House of Scientists. Since 1981— he has been a professor at GITIS.
Serova also appeared as the author of television programs ("The Moscow Art Theater and Chekhov", "The Moscow Art Theater and Gorky", "The Art of poetic translation", "Russian Tsars", "Marina Tsvetaeva", etc.), the book "The Word. Image. Voice. Speech", poetry collections "I'm silently screaming" (1993) and "In front of an open door" (2006).
