JAC will bring a diesel pickup truck to Russia
Sales of the diesel version of the JAC T9 pickup truck will begin in August. This is reported in a press release from the Chinese automaker, received on August 6 by Izvestia
The new version of the T9 is equipped with a 170 hp turbodiesel with a maximum torque of 410 Nm. It is combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission adapted to this power unit.
The JAC T9 is equipped with front airbags and side shutters, and an electrically adjustable driver's seat.
Built-in metal safety arches and four rigging eyelets ensure the cargo is secured in the body. The durability of the cargo platform is guaranteed by a special protective coating. The rear suspension is spring-loaded, with three main plates and two auxiliary ones.
On July 9, Zoya Kaika, Deputy General Director of Sollers, said that the company plans to complete the development of a new SUV of the Russian brand Sollers at the beginning of the fourth quarter of this year. Kaika noted that the launch of the model in 2026 will be carried out according to the full production cycle, including stamping of body elements at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant.
On January 30 of this year, Sollers launched production of all-wheel drive Sollers ST6 and ST8 pickups using full-cycle technology at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, these models are based on JAC. A new SUV is also being developed based on the Sollers ST9/JAC T9.
