The expert spoke about the possible consequences of the earthquake in Kamchatka
Earthquakes in Kamchatka will affect the ecology of the region, and islands may disappear or arise as a result of a natural disaster. This was announced by one of the world's leading experts in the field of geography, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Arkady Tishkov.
"The echoes of the earthquake will affect the state of the island archipelagos of the Okhotsk and Bering Seas, and perhaps there will also be changes, land rises and falls, the formation of new islands, and the disappearance of old ones," the TASS expert said.
According to Tishkov, volcanic eruptions after an earthquake can cause severe environmental pollution and lower temperatures. He noted that there will also be changes in the configuration of the shores, which will affect fishing and marine environmental management.
Earlier, on August 3, 10 significant earthquakes were recorded in Kamchatka, and more than 65 earthquakes occurred in just one day. On August 4, the situation repeated itself: seven significant earthquakes occurred during the day, and more than 85 earthquakes occurred during the day.
