SCMP announced China's plans not to stop buying Russian oil
China will continue to buy Russian oil, despite the sanctions that US President Donald Trump intends to impose. This was reported on July 6 by the South China Morning Post (SCMP) agency, citing sources.
"Even in the face of threats from US President Donald Trump to impose tariffs on countries importing Russian goods, <...> China will not stop buying oil from Russia, given their mutually beneficial energy cooperation relationship," the agency said in a statement.
It is noted that the purchase of Russian oil is a strategic goal of China. The SCMP described the import of this energy resource as one of the safest and most stable supplies.
Earlier, on August 5, Trump announced that he intends to make a decision on Wednesday, August 6, related to sanctions against countries that purchase Russian oil. It is noted that a preliminary meeting will be held with Russian officials.
