The American administration is contributing more than others to reducing the role of the dollar in international trade operations. This was stated to Izvestia by Alexander Shchetinin, head of the Latin American Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"The main thing in trade and economic relations is mutual benefit and effective financial and logistical mechanisms. The world is currently going through a difficult period of their restructuring, caused by the increasing use of unilateral coercive measures, including secondary sanctions as a method of political pressure. Adaptation to new realities is underway. No one is more actively contributing to reducing the role of the dollar in trade settlements than the American administration itself," the diplomat said.

According to the Central Bank data from April, the Russian Federation has almost completely switched to rubles in payments for supplies to the Caribbean (95%) and Oceania (91%). The role of the Russian currency in exports to Asian countries has increased to almost 50%. A year ago, the share of such calculations was about 37%. Payments to America and Europe accounted for 55% and almost 63%.
