The Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah will not conclude any new agreements with the State of Israel until its authorities fulfill the ceasefire agreements signed on November 27, 2024. This was announced on August 5 by the head of the movement, Naim Kasem.

"We reject any new agreement. Any time frame proposed to us for disarmament that could serve as a cover for Israeli aggression is unacceptable," the Lebanese LBC television channel quoted him as saying.

As Kasem pointed out, Israel has retreated from fulfilling its obligations. And if the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continues to expand hostilities against Lebanon, rockets will "fly towards Jerusalem."

The leader of the movement stressed that Hezbollah had facilitated Lebanon's fulfillment of its obligations under the aforementioned agreement. However, Lebanon's priority remains "restoring sovereignty and achieving liberation," while "Israel's interest is in weakening Lebanon," Qassem said.

On August 4, Russian Ambassador to Beirut Alexander Rudakov, in an interview with Izvestia, said that Russia sees the process of disarming the Hezbollah movement and transferring its weapons to the Lebanese army. Moscow believes that this is a step in the right direction. At the same time, the diplomat pointed out that the Israeli side regularly strikes Lebanon in violation of the ceasefire agreements.

Al Arabiya TV channel reported on July 23 that Hezbollah refused to lay down its arms even in the event of a complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from Lebanese territory. The movement stressed that "none of the leadership has the authority to make a decision on the transfer of weapons." It was noted that this position of Hezbollah causes discontent in the Lebanese Cabinet of Ministers.
