In Kamchatka, an ash discharge occurred to a height of up to 7 thousand meters from the Klyuchevsky volcano. This was announced on August 5 by the press service of the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region in the Telegram channel.
"The ash release occurred on August 5 at a height of up to 7 thousand m. The height of the volcano itself is 4.75 thousand m," the ministry said.
After the incident, the plume from the release spread in a southeasterly direction towards the Pacific Ocean. There are no settlements on his way. There are also no registered tourist groups in the Klyuchevsky area.
The volcano has been assigned an "orange" danger level.
On August 4, activity on the Mutnovsky volcano was recorded in Kamchatka. It is specified that an accurate forecast of its eruptions is currently impossible due to the continuous flow of aftershocks from the focal zones of strong earthquakes. Scientists do not recommend visiting this volcano now.
On August 3, the press service of the main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka Territory reported on the eruption of the Krasheninnikov volcano. It was noted that this is the first historical eruption of this volcano. The last outpouring of lava on the Krasheninnikov volcano occurred approximately 562 years ago.
