Russian schoolchildren, who won two gold and two silver medals at the 37th International Olympiad in Computer Science in Bolivia, adequately represented the Russian school of IT education. This was announced on August 4 by Russian President Vladimir Putin, congratulating the participants.
"Dear Gimran Maratovich, Peter Valerievich, Vladislav Alexandrovich and Daria Sergeevna! Congratulations on your excellent performance at the International Olympiad in Computer Science, which was attended by more than 400 students from 87 countries," the telegram says on the Kremlin's website.
The President noted that the Russians had demonstrated perseverance in the fight against strong rivals, and made everyone worry about themselves.
"You have shown a high level of training, adequately represented our country and the national school of IT education. And of course, you have pleased everyone who cared for you and supported you on the path to success," the Russian leader said.
On August 2, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko announced that Russian schoolchildren had won four medals at the 37th International Olympiad in Computer Science in Sucre, Bolivia. High school students from Moscow and Kazan won two gold and two silver medals. The Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov added that Russian schoolchildren have once again proved their skills at the international level and showed excellent results.
