A teenager in St. Petersburg was placed under house arrest for setting fire to a police post.

The Moscow District Court of St. Petersburg has chosen a preventive measure in the form of house arrest against a teenager accused of setting fire to a police post. This was announced on August 4 by the joint press service of the city courts in its Telegram channel.

According to investigators, the teenager entered into a criminal conspiracy with an unidentified person aimed at committing a terrorist act. Carrying a bottle with an inflammable mixture, the minor threw it onto the roof of a stationary police post on Moskovskaya Square.

The teenager was detained on August 2 and charged under paragraph a of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act").

"The person involved is prohibited from leaving and changing his place of residence, communicating with participants in criminal proceedings, receiving and sending mail and telegraphic correspondence, making appeals through the media, negotiating using any means of communication, using the Internet," the message says.

In Ufa, a 17-year-old teenager was charged with high treason on July 31 for collecting information about strategically important facilities of the fuel and energy complex (fuel and energy complex) in Ufa, Kazan and Ryazan, as well as preparing sabotage. He also agreed to set fire to a railway locomotive for 200 thousand rubles. The young man was charged with high treason and preparation for sabotage (Part 1 of Article 30, part 1 of Article 281, Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The court took the teenager into custody.
