The number of injured in the collision of a tour bus with a train in the Leningrad region has increased to 16 people. This was reported on August 4 in the press service of the regional administration.

"As a result of a collision between a bus and a freight train at the Inema crossing in the Lodeynopolsky district, one person was killed and 16 passengers were injured," the department's Telegram channel said.

They also added that seven people are in serious condition. In addition, ambulance crews are currently transporting injured people to hospitals.

According to the Izvestia source, the passengers of the tour bus were pilgrims who were traveling to Tutaev in the Yaroslavl region.

Earlier that day, a source from Izvestia reported that an accident with a tour bus had occurred in the Leningrad Region. He specified that there were 37 tourists on the bus, the transport followed the Kem — Yaroslavl route. Later, the press service of the Oktyabrskaya Railway stated that the departure of the tour bus on the way in front of the approaching train caused an accident at the crossing.
