Ships of the Russian Navy and the Naval Forces of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA) left Vladivostok for the Sea of Japan to conduct the practical part of the Russian-Chinese Naval Interaction 2025 exercise. This was announced on August 4 by the press service of the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet).

It is specified that before the launch, the general construction of the crews of the ships took place. The orchestra of the Pacific Fleet headquarters accompanied the departure of the ships with the performance of the march "Farewell of the Slavs". After entering Peter the Great Bay, the Russian and Chinese ships formed a joint detachment consisting of the large anti-submarine ship Admiral Tributs and the corvette Gromky, as well as the destroyers Shaoxing and Urumqi, which conducted the first training in communications and joint maneuvering.

After maneuvering, the joint squadron of ships worked out the tasks of repelling a simulated air attack. The crews of the ships fired naval anti-aircraft artillery installations at air targets, which were parachuted by an Il-38 anti-submarine aircraft of the Pacific Fleet naval aviation. According to the exercise plan, in another area of the Sea of Japan, the Igor Belousov rescue vessel and the Sikhu submarine rescue vessel, as well as diesel-eclectic submarines from both countries, occupied the area of practicing rescue tasks.

The naval part of the traditional Russian-Chinese exercise "Maritime Interaction – 2025" in the waters of the Sea of Japan will last until August 5, 2025. The sailors of the Russian Navy and the Chinese Navy, with the support of naval aviation, will improve joint actions in organizing search and rescue at sea, as well as work out anti-submarine tasks and air defense, and conduct joint artillery firing in one of the naval combat training grounds of the Pacific Fleet.

On July 23, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that the Russian Navy had launched the July Storm operational exercise, which involved forces from the Northern, Pacific, Baltic Fleets and the Caspian Flotilla. It was noted that during the exercises, the readiness of the fleets to solve non-standard operational tasks, as well as to use long-range weapons, unmanned systems and modern military equipment, will be checked.
