A day earlier, the Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation announced that the weather danger level due to thunderstorms and wind had been raised to "orange" in the Moscow region. The organization noted the likelihood of natural disasters and damage.
On the same day, Tatyana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at the Meteonosti news agency, said that Moscow residents should adapt to the new climatic conditions — changeable weather with temperature fluctuations and precipitation increasingly resembles a subtropical climate.
