The death toll from hunger and malnutrition in the Gaza Strip has risen to 169 people, including 93 children. This was announced on August 2 by the Ministry of Health of the enclave.

"Thus, the total number of victims is 169 people, including 93 children," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.

It is noted that seven people, including one child, have died of starvation in Gaza over the past 24 hours. In addition, the Ministry of Health stressed that the humanitarian crisis in the region continues to worsen.

"It calls on the international community and humanitarian organizations to intervene immediately and urgently," the ministry added.

On July 27, journalist Muhammad Mattar told Izvestia about queues near a charity kitchen in the Gaza Strip. According to him, the food crisis in the region has worsened due to the closure of checkpoints, the shelling of the charity kitchen and its employees.

In turn, The Jerusalem Post reported on July 25 that there is a problem of food insecurity in the Gaza Strip. Despite this, Israel, according to JP, is trying to convince the UN to send 900 trucks with humanitarian aid to Gaza.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
