A potentially dangerous interstellar object could reach Earth by the end of 2025.
Harvard astrophysicist Loeb reported that a potentially dangerous interstellar object 3I/ATLAS could reach Earth by the end of 2025. The Daily Mail newspaper writes about this on August 2.
"Professor Avi Loeb has been tracking the object, dubbed 3I/ATLAS, since its first discovery on July 1. <...> Loeb predicted that it would reach Earth between November 21 and December 5, 2025," the material says.
Loeb admits that this object may even turn out to be an alien ship capable of carrying a probe or a weapon.
"He can come to save us or destroy us. We'd better be prepared for both options and check if all interstellar objects are rocks," Loeb said.
CNN reported on July 26, citing Paul Wiegert, professor of astronomy and physics at the University of Western Ontario, that the collision of asteroid 2024 YR4 with the Moon poses a threat to space satellites, astronauts and structures on the Earth's satellite. He noted that this collision does not pose a particular threat to the inhabitants of the Earth.
