A fire broke out in the industrial zone of the NPP due to the shelling of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

As a result of artillery shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), a fire broke out in the industrial zone of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), and the fire is currently localized. This was announced on August 2 in the Telegram channel of the NPP.

"Currently, there is no threat to the safe operation of the Zaporizhia NPP power units. The station is operating normally," the message says.

It is specified that during the extinguishing of the fire, the drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked a fire truck. None of the rescuers and station staff were injured, and no increase in radiation levels was recorded.

The press service of the NPP added that the fire was quickly localized due to the prompt actions of emergency rescue units.
