On August 2, Denis Pushilin, the head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), called the liberation of the Chasy Yar settlement in the region a triumph for the Airborne Troops.

"The battle for Chasov Yar, which has become one of the most difficult in the history of the SVR, recently culminated in the triumph of the Blue Berets," Pushilin wrote on his Telegram channel.

He noted that the liberation of the city took place on the eve of Airborne Forces Day. In addition, the head of the DPR stressed that the paratroopers had proved their combat capability during a special military operation.

"Your contribution to the protection of peace and security is invaluable. Thank you for your service and loyalty to the Fatherland!" concluded Pushilin.

On July 31, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that Russian army soldiers had liberated the village of Chasy Yar in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). Retired Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk, a former special forces officer, noted that the liberation of the settlement creates new prospects for the Russian army in the region.

The Ministry of Defense clarified that during the liberation of Chasova Yar, more than 4.2 thousand buildings were cleared. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost about 7.5 thousand militants, 11 tanks, 55 armored vehicles and 160 field artillery and mortars in the battles for the settlement.

Later, on August 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated soldiers and officers on Airborne Forces Day, mentioning that the current generation is valiantly fighting for truth and justice during its military operations.
