- The parties of the Victory bloc will discuss independent participation in the elections in Moldova
The parties of the Moldovan opposition bloc Pobeda will discuss their participation in the parliamentary elections separately after being refused registration by the country's Central Election Commission (CEC). This was announced on August 2 by Deputy of the Moldovan Parliament Vasily Bolya, representing the bloc, commenting on the decision of the Supreme Judicial Chamber (VSP) to reject the complaint against the decision of the Central Election Commission not to register for the elections.
"We will challenge this decision in international instances and will definitely appeal to the European Court of Human Rights. Moldova has already been convicted of similar cases. Then the parties that are part of the bloc will decide how they will proceed and whether they will participate in the elections on their own," TASS quoted him as saying.
Earlier that day, the Supreme Judicial Chamber of Moldova refused to register the Victory bloc for the elections. It is noted that the decision is final and is not subject to appeal.
On July 19, the Central Election Commission of Moldova did not allow the Victory bloc to participate in the parliamentary elections. The decision was made by a majority vote during the meeting. The reason for the refusal was alleged violations in the document flow, as well as non-compliance with the requirements of the electoral legislation. Vasily Bolya, a representative of the Pobeda bloc, in turn, expressed his intention to appeal the decision in court.
