Celebrations dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the formation of the Airborne Forces have begun in Moscow.

On the eve of the Airborne Forces Day, Acting Commander of the Airborne Forces, Major General Sergei Chubarykin, officers and civil servants of the Airborne Command, military personnel of military units stationed in Moscow and the Moscow region, and veterans of the troops took part in the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the formation of the Airborne Forces. This was announced on August 2 in the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The festive divine service was conducted by Archpriest Alexander Dasaev, dean of the Resurrection Deanery of the Eastern Vicariate of Moscow. Before the prayer service, he read out a congratulatory telegram for the commander of the Airborne Forces and all military personnel from Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, in which he warmly and cordially congratulated the Russians on the upcoming Prophet Elijah Day and the 95th anniversary of the Airborne Forces.

At the end of the liturgy, Archpriest Dasaev wished success in military affairs to all airborne troops and a speedy victory in the special military operation. The military personnel, the commanding staff and all those present were able to venerate the icons, inspect the temple's shrines and commemorative plaques, which list the names of all the Heroes of the USSR and Russia who linked their lives with the Airborne Forces.

Then there was a solemn flower-laying ceremony for the legendary commander of the Airborne Forces, Army General Vasily Margelov, in the Khoroshevsky district of Moscow. Then the guard of honor of the Preobrazhensky regiment was formed.

A solemn meeting of officers dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the formation of the Airborne Forces was held at the Command of the Airborne Forces. By tradition, the solemn meeting began with the removal of the National Flag of the Russian Federation and the flag of the Airborne Troops. At the meeting, the personnel of the Airborne Forces Command received congratulations from the Commander of the Airborne Forces, Hero of Russia, Colonel-General Mikhail Teplinsky.

Chubarykin also delivered a congratulatory speech. After it, he awarded the officers of the Command who distinguished themselves during their military service with state awards and insignia of the Ministry of Defense, and also presented the Gratitude of Russian President Vladimir Putin, diplomas of the commander of the Airborne Forces and valuable gifts. The officers were awarded medals of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree with swords, Zhukov, For Military Distinction and for Strengthening Military Cooperation.

The President assessed the results of the July Storm in St. Petersburg and visited Admiral Grigorovich after repelling mass attacks by UAVs.

On August 1, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian military personnel had hit armored and automotive vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the special operation. The fighters of the Russian Armed Forces also hit the communications elements and temporary deployment points of the Ukrainian army personnel.
