More than half of American families blame US President Donald Trump and his policies for their financial difficulties. Such data on August 1 follows from a survey conducted by the consulting group Morning Consult for the Century Foundation analytical center.

"American families are experiencing financial difficulties, and six out of ten respondents blame Donald Trump for the rising cost of living. It is noteworthy that six out of ten respondents believe that in just six months in office, the Trump administration has negatively affected their cost of living," the survey says.

It is clarified that the respondents indicated difficulties related to paying bills and providing basic needs. Americans are concerned about the possible deterioration of the situation in the future.

According to the survey, citizens of the United States take out loans in order to cope with the high cost of living. Over the past year, more than 40% of Americans have used savings, 37% have used credit cards, and many, according to them, borrowed from friends and relatives or went into debt.

The survey also highlights that six out of ten Americans point to increased difficulties finding well-paying jobs, affordable kindergarten, and buying real estate.

In addition, four out of five Americans (83%) are concerned about food prices. Almost half of the respondents (47%) are concerned about their ability to pay rent or mortgage, and almost two thirds (64%) are concerned about paying for unforeseen medical expenses.

The day before, The Times newspaper, citing a survey conducted among the American population, reported that President Trump's approval rating was falling, especially on economic issues. According to the survey results, only 13% of respondents said that their financial condition had improved. About 50% of Americans believe that the economic situation is getting worse.
