Choosing a diamond is not only a matter of taste, but also of individual characteristics. One of the key tasks when buying a ring with a stone is to choose the right cut that will emphasize the beauty of the hands. Nina Sergeeva, Commercial Director for Sunlight stones, gemology expert, told Izvestia on August 4 how not to lose a diamond cut depending on the shape and length of the fingers.

"The shape of the fingers is different for everyone: for someone it is refined, for someone it emphasizes the structure of the hand, for someone it is softer. These features require a personal approach to choosing a diamond cut. For example, for thin fingers, larger stones with rounded cuts are suitable, for example, with classic or oval ones," she explained.

These shapes, according to the expert, visually balance the proportions and make the hands more elegant. For fuller fingers, it is worth paying attention to square and rectangular facets, such as "radiant" or "emerald". These shapes will help visually lengthen your fingers and make them look slimmer.

The length of the fingers also matters. For those with short fingers, it is recommended to choose cuts with a lower height in order to avoid the effect of a "heavy" hand. Baguette or sash cuttings can be an excellent choice, as they create the illusion of a longer length. Long fingers, on the contrary, can afford more elongated cuts. In this case, it is worth paying attention to the "marquis" or "pear", which will emphasize the elegance and grace of the hands.

"For miniature fingers, it's better to choose small diamonds so that they don't look bulky. While more massive stones are suitable for large and wide hands. When choosing a color, it is worth considering not only personal preferences, but also skin tone. Cool skin tones work best with white and pink diamonds, while warm skin tones blend perfectly with yellow or golden stones," the expert added.

Choosing a diamond cut is an opportunity to emphasize your personality. By paying attention to the shape and length of the fingers, you can emphasize your personal strengths and even hide some flaws. It is important to remember that every detail matters, and the approach to the choice should be thoughtful and informed.

Earlier, on May 24, Fomina told Izvestia that modern technologies make it possible to create jewelry with stones that are practically indistinguishable from natural diamonds to the naked eye. Thus, cubic zirconia tops the list of the most popular analogues.
