18 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which there were no fatalities, however, 23 road users, including five children, required medical assistance. 10 bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.
As a result of 72 accidents, 24 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 48 outside their area of operation, four pedestrians were killed, and 72 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 23 pedestrians under the age of 16, 11 of whom were injured while crossing the roadway at designated locations.

So, in the Trans-Baikal Territory, on the 886th km of the federal highway R-258 Baikal, a 41-year-old female driver fell asleep at the wheel, drove off the road, followed by a rollover, and crashed into a tree. Her 10-year-old daughter, who was in the back seat with her seat belt unbuckled, died in the accident. The female driver and another of her passengers were injured and ended up in hospital.
In the Sakhalin Region, on the 65th km of the Nevelsk- Tomari—Shakhtersk regional highway, a 48—year-old drunk car driver ran over an eight-year-old cyclist who was riding with her peers and was crossing the road at an unregulated pedestrian crossing without dismounting at the time of the incident. The girl died.
On the eve of the weekend and possible long-distance trips, the State Traffic Inspectorate urged motorists not to overestimate their strength during long trips and to closely monitor their well-being on the road. Even the most minor signs of impending fatigue should not be neglected, and if you suddenly feel sleepy while driving, you need to stop immediately either to rest in a car or at a hotel.
"Take care not only of yourself, but also of your passengers, especially children, who must be transported in strict accordance with all applicable safety regulations. In addition, we remind you about the inadmissibility of driving while intoxicated. We urge road users not to remain indifferent to the problem of drunkenness at the wheel and promptly inform the police about drivers who behave inappropriately on the road. Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate are ready to take all necessary operational measures to respond to such reports," Police Colonel Anton Belan, deputy head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, told Izvestia.
The department also reminded parents of the need to be more attentive to their preschool children, monitor their leisure time, not let them walk alone without supervision, and use retroreflective elements on their clothes to improve visibility in the evening. The State Traffic Inspectorate called for an explanatory conversation with children about the rules of safe travel on personal mobility equipment, bicycles and scooters, paying special attention to the inadmissibility of minors under the age of 14 traveling on public roads, as well as the need to dismount when crossing the roadway at a pedestrian crossing.
On July 24, it was reported that 100 people died in road accidents in Moscow in the first half of 2025. This is 32% less than in the first six months of 2024, when 147 people died in road accidents.
