Rosstandart explained the nuances of banning a number of Chinese trucks

The measure taken by Rosstandart with respect to Dongfeng, Foton, FAW and Sitrak trucks has no effect on owners of vehicles already in service, however, the import and registration of electronic vehicle passports (EPPS) for imported trucks have been suspended, as well as their sale and registration. This was reported to Izvestia by representatives of Rosstandart.

"The restrictions apply to vehicles of these types imported into the territory of the Russian Federation prior to their release into circulation (without electronic vehicle passports), as well as those released into circulation (with electronic vehicle passports) but not yet registered with the State Traffic Inspectorate," Rosstandart said.

Representative offices of Chinese truck brands have already notified of the suspension of sales of products for which violations have been identified, and have also begun developing recall campaigns. The program of the latter will be analyzed by Rosstandart and agreed upon, provided that "appropriate measures to eliminate violations are sufficient in them."

Earlier this year, Rosstandart had complaints about the safety of Shacman SX3258 trucks, which led to the suspension of vehicle type approval (OTT) from February 7 this year.

"Currently, Shakman Motors LLC has submitted to the department a program of measures to prevent harm, based on the results of consideration of which, in the absence of comments, a process of its approval will be organized," the department also commented.

On August 30, it became known that a number of Chinese truck models of Dongfeng, Foton, FAW and Sitrak brands were banned in Russia. Their vehicle type and chassis type approvals have been suspended.

Later, AAA Trakservice LLC told Izvestia that the number of Chinese trucks of four brands that need to be upgraded after Rosstandart's statement about their danger could reach 30 thousand units.
