A freight train derailed in the Chelyabinsk region, an inspection has been organized on this fact. This was announced on August 1 by the press service of the Central Interregional Investigative Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

"According to preliminary information, on August 1, 2025, during unloading operations, the winch cable broke, which led to the rolling out of eight railway cars at the Hornet railway station," the Telegram channel says.

There were no casualties in the incident. The incident is being investigated under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of railway transport, resulting in major damage").

Currently, restoration work is underway, investigators are examining the scene and clarifying the circumstances.

Earlier, on July 12, eight wagons with crushed stone derailed at the Sibirtsevo station of the Far Eastern Railway in Primorsky Krai. No one was injured in the incident.
